The solution of the future for beautiful and durable green roofs and plant walls
A shorter route to green construction
The effects of green roofs
Green sedum roofs from Nature Impact are not only a beautiful solution. They also provide a climate-friendly and future-proof roof covering, which is a gain for the modern construction industry. Sedum roofs absorb large quantities of rain water, and help with localised drainage of precipitation. Climate change means they will play an increasingly important role in future construction projects.
Green roofs allow the city to breathe, and bring nature into the urban environment. Green roofs, which cover black felt roofs, help to lower the temperature in large cities. They also provide food for the city’s insects, and have a beneficial effect on biodiversity. In addition, they absorb small particles, and improve the air quality.
Green roofs need not be difficult or expensive to lay. With our modern tray solution, you get easy mounting and a truly amazing end result. All in one and the same tray – ready to lay out onto the existing roof. A green roof has a long life span, requires minimal maintenance, and stays beautiful year after year.
Green walls indoors & outdoors
Nature Impact supplies green walls for both indoors and outdoors. An outdoor plant wall creates a greener urban environment that brings nature closer to the architecture. Plant walls take in CO2 from the near environment, purify the air, and return oxygen as a natural part of the plant’s photosynthesis. The plants remove dust particles from the air, and also have good noise-reducing properties.
A living plant wall indoors creates a pleasant and peaceful atmosphere, and people’s mood and well-being are affected by being surrounded by green plants. It fits in with what they say – that green is good for the eye. An indoor plant wall also improves the indoor climate and the acoustics in the room.
Green solutions for the climate and environment
At Nature Impact we are always aware of our responsibilities. This should also be seen in our products. We do not use any herbicide on our horticultural farm, and we weed by hand. We believe that if a green product has to meet the demands of green ideologies, then production should too.
Products from Nature Impact are approved for inclusion in the Nordic Swan construction labelling scheme, and our products also give points to the DGNB, amongst others. DGNB.
Our work to become more environmentally aware never stops. Constructions of over 1,000 m2 must use EPDs for climate modelling, and here too we have you covered. Our best-selling solution – the 60 mm Nature Roof – comes with an EPD. There is documentation of our sedum roofs and their environmental properties, which can be used throughout Europe.
Our responsibility is also reflected in the performance of our products. In collaboration with DHI, we have full-scale live testing of water retention. This allows us to measure the impact of green roofs after each rain event.
Insects are also monitored. We are working with a group from Aarhus University to count up the number of insects in urban as well as rural settings. The results of this will give us an indication of what insects we can expect to be present in different environments.
